They proceeded in this order till coming into the strait, when H. L. let out the Little Wonder, who, cutting down his opponents, won in a common canter. II a'.ids down. " Dublin Twig" (I'orciffti Stock, we believe.) made a faint effort to reach tho favorite (Little A\ oni>kk), but failed to get np, and, curious to relate, ho has not been seen or heard of since. The advantages of this landing place are that it is within six miles of (he market and twenty miles nearer the market than the east bank of the Tamaki, thereby saving a long drive to Fat Cattle. There is no bar to cross, and good draft of water for large vessels at all times of the tide The landing place is opposite Brown's Island, immediately round the Beacon at the West Tamaki Head, and within one hundred yards of the shore. ITiIPORTANT COASTING VESSELS .£SHIPPERS OF CATTLE ON THE EAST COAST TO AUCKLAND. ME. ALFRED BUCKLAND KESPECTFULLY informs his FRIENDS that CATTLE can bo LANDED on the East Bank of the Tamaki, about one mile from the Heads, OVER THE VESSEL'S SIDE WITHOUT THE USE OF A HO AT, AND AT ALL TIMES OF THE TIDE, thereby Baving the risk and injury to the Cattle of a second time putting them in slings, as well as the additional cost of Boating, with the further advantage of being at once in ti GOOD PADDOCII WITHOUT ANY DRIVING-. Ve«els not drawing more than nine feet of water can enter and leave ul all times with half-tide, and at fuli tides Vessels drawing fourteen ieot of water can enter safely. . .
