Several persons, amongst, them two Wahoos, were brought before his Worship, chr.rged with drunkenness,°and "['On conviction fined 205., or sentenced to be imprisoned for 4K hours. His Worship inquired where the two Wahoos were taken. The enn'tublt! said they were taicen at tho Uroyhound, in Queen-street. His Worship said it should be ascertained where these natives t;ot drink. The CoinniisHinner said that these two men were "Wahoos. Thev did not come within the operation of the Ordinance applying to the supply of drink to the natives. The case had been decided. Jamed lirown wa3 charged with stealing two loaves ofhrcadand two pounds of cheese from Mrs. Anne Wallace of Victoria-street. The prisoner said he had eaten nothing for three davs, and could get 110 work. Kis Worship said ho could haidly think that the prisoner could not find work. The fact was there was plenty of work, but workmen would not work unless they obUiuffd enormous wa-es. They then I ell into idle habits and ultimately fell back upon stealing. He sentenced the prisonor to two'montW ' imprisonment with hard labour.
