TENDERS will be received at this office until noon of SATL'RDAY, August 12th proximo, for the purchase, or for the lease for a period of two yearn, of the Coal Mine now being worked in Waikato by the Colonial Government, with all tho mining plant, tools, Sc., &e.,at present inusethcro. The boundary liiu-s of the land on which the workings are situati will be marked, and will include from 150 to 200 aer. s ; a right, to cut timber, for use in the Mine only, on the Kupekupe block, will be reserved to the purchaser or to tho les.seo so long as tho land remains in the possesion of the Government. The lessee wiil be n quired to pay a fixed rent of two hundred pound.s per annum : rent paynblo halfyearly and, in advance, and in addition, a royalty upon the coals sold or otlu-rwiso disposed of at pjr ton weight. The lessee will aho he required to supply, if called upon by the Colonial Government, sufficiont coals for the use of two steam-boats on the Waikato, at f, rate not exceeding fifteen shillings per ton of 2240 lbs. The Tender for the river transport of goods to Btate one uniform rate for each of the above services, between any two posts (irrespee'ivo of distance) now in existence, or which may hereafter be established on the Waikato and Waipa rivers, including tho landing place at Maungatawhiri Creek. All stores to be at the risk of tho Contractor from the time they are handed over to him, until delivered at tho places to which they are consigned. The rates for Ist class passengers to include an allowance of half-a ton measurement of baggage, and all deliveries of stores to be token and made on a wharf where such is in existence, and otherwise on dry land above high water mark, and at the cost and risk of the Contractor. The Contractor will be required to give security for tho due performance of the contract. Parties tendering should state the number and description of steamears and other vessels with which they propose to carry out the contract in the event of their tender being accepted, and should name a day, not to bo later than tho Ist September proximo, upon which they will be prepared to commence tho service ; tho contract to continue from the day so named until tho 31st March, 18G6.
