THE CITY BOARD ELECTIONS.
We •were glad to observe that the ratepayers yesterday, evinced a very great amount oi' interest in tlie Cily Board Elections. Qhisisas it should be. Heaven helps those -who help themselves, and it is very certain that the best ■way to obtain eood representatives, is to take some little trouble in securing the services of suitable representatives. Throughout the day the offices of the Board were thronged with anxious voters, and the number of votes recorded, show that it was generally participated m by those entitled to exercise the right. At the close of the poll, at 4 o'clock, the numbers stood as follows:— West, Wabd No. 1. Mr. James George 91 Mr. E. Marshall" 33 Mr. L. Philips 1 West, Waed No. 2. Mr. Plater 95 Mr. W. Williams 21 Mr. Taylor 18 West, Waed IS t o. 3. Mr. Ashton 135 Mr. Mills 56 Mr. Morris 23 East, Waed No. 1. Mr. D. Graham 66 Mr. Prime 46 Messrs. George, Slater, Ashton, and David Graham were declared dulj r elected.
