The schooner Tauranga, Captain Sellars, arrived fruin Tauranga yesterday morning, bringing up 20 empty 7 casks, 104 hides, 4 horses, and 20 passengers. The ketch Sea Shell, from Poverty Bay, with horses, and schooner Rose Ann, from tho East Coast, with produce, both arrived yesterday. H.M.S.S. toek her departure at an early hour yesterday morning. We understand that she has gone to'lauranga i'or the purpose of conveyin" troops hither. The s.s. Auckland, Captain Hagley, cleared yesterday for Melbourne via the South, and sails at 11 a.m. this morning. I'he s s. Prince Alfred is due from Sydney, with tho English mail to-morrow, bu} it is not at all improbable but what she might arrive to-day. The brig Louis and Miriam, for Sydney, and schooner Eclipse, for Dunedin, both sailed last evening. The schooner Coral Queen, for Sydney, and Tbiique Lombard, for Newcastle, have both cleared at the Customs, and sail this morning. Tun Stoiim ButD.—This vessel has been laid up for some months, during which time she has had a thorough overhaul, and been reCtted. She has been on the slip in Evan's Bay, and her hull inspected. Where the plates were found to be thin, they have been .taken out and replaced with new ones. A new boiler lias been placed in her, ,which has been considerably enlarged by the addition of a new steam chest. The cylinders have been rcbored, the shaft lengthened, new air pump rods made, new brasse.fitted, all the joints and bearings of the engine ie-tm-ncd and fitted, and a new tunnel erected. An alteration has been made in her cabin accommodation, the ladies' cabin being contidorably enlarged, and the fore-cabin considerably improved both as regards light and ventilation. The houses on deckhave been enlarged, for the accommodation of the captain and otlicers. The saloon has been tastefully fitted, with white and gilt mouldings, and the cushions restuffed and covered with Utritch velvet. The engineering work h m been carried out by Mr. C.
