THE FRUITS OF THE PROCLAMATION OF 26th OCTOBER.
The following are returns to an order of the House of Representatives of Friday, the 9th day of December, 1864. That there be laid on the table of this House a return, showing the names, tribes, and usual residences of all Natives (if any) who may have accepted the terms of his Excellency's proclamation of amnesty up to the day limited for its duration, the 10th. December instant. Also a return of all tracts (if any) of land, giving the district, estimated area, geographical boundaries, as far as can be done, ■which may have been ceded by any Natives under the above proclamation to the satisfaction of his Excellency and. General Sir Duncan Cameron, K.C.B. Also a copy of any proclamation or declaration, giving the extent of forfeiture of land intended to be made by the Governor, which may have been i«sued in pursuance of the instructions given him by the . right hon. Mr. Cardwell, in his despatch of the 26th April, 1563. Colonial Secretary's Office, Native Department, December 10, 1864. Return of Natives surrendered under the Proclamation. Raniera Rangihua, Ngatiteata, Waiuku; no arms. Six Natives, names not known; Ngamah&Dga, Taranaki, Mr. Parris's report vras referred to his Excellency on the Ist December, but not returned. The precis is taken from the register of letters. ~ Return of tracts of land which hav« been ceded by the Natives under the proclamation of amnesty—Nil. Copy of proclamation giving the extent of forfeiture of hinds, &e.—Nil.
