' All claims against the ship British Trident aro to be sent in by noon to-morrow to her agent—Mr. S. Laurie. She entered outwards yesterday for Point do Galle. The ship Fairfield, Capt. Hall, has completed tho discharga'of her cargo, and entered outwards at tho Custom House yesterday, for Newcastle, N.S.W. The ship Talbot, now 127 days out from London, is anxiously looked for and may be expected to make her number at any hour. The Nimroud, 117 days, and Ardbeg, 112 days out from tho Downs .are also hourly expected#

The barque Amazono is fast filling up for London, and is oxpncted to sail ahout the beginning of next month. The ship Tda Ziegler has also commenced loading for the same port. We have much pleasuro in noticing n. handsome addition to our coasting fleot, by the arrival of two fine schooners from tho coast. Tho first is the schooner Rosella, built and owned by Mr. «Tohn Sullivan, of Mahurangi. Sho is n forc-nnd-after of beautiful model, built under particular inspection, and no expense whatever spared in her formation, being^coppered and copper fastened; sho is 50 feet keel, 65 feet over-all, beam 16 feet 8 inches, 7 feet 9 inches depth of hold, nnd about 50 tons register. The other vesse' is also a fine forc-and-after, named tho Saucy Lass, built at Omah by Mr. Matheson, and is ft craft which reflects upon her builder the highest credit; her dimensions avo—s4 feet keel, lG'r feet beam, 7 foot depth of hold, and about 40 tons register. Both vessels aro intended for tho coasting trade, for which thoy are well adopted, and wo wish their spirited and enterprizing builders and owners every SUCCOSS, and may they afford them such inducement as to build many moro such craft. Tho cook of tho Ouse, bound from Sunderland to Alexandria, has been charged with attempting to poison the whole crew. Thrco of them, it seems, died, but " An writing to tho Times, suggests that thoy died of eating bad pork. There is a disease among pigs, iu which they become infected with a minute worm called trichina spiralis. If the meat thus poisoned is not particularly well cooked, the worm enters tho consumer's system, and gradually cats him also, causing disease or death. The complaint is woll known in Germany, and even in England several cases have been reported, particularly at Birmingham, and Professor GamgCO mentioned to the committee on diseased cattle the necessity for special precautions against the evil. Pork is not often eaten by the rich. half cooked, but sailors eat it nearly raw, and it remains sometimes in sausages only just heated through.
