SOUTH NEWTON.
Oi'K attention has been called to tho salo of a variety of choice allotments in this flourishing locality, which are to be brought to the hammer by Messrs. J. S. Maefarlanonnd Co., at their niart, Queen-street, to-morrow (Tuesday), at noon. From the hour of its foundation, the population and prosperity of Newton, whether South, 2>orrh, or East, has been rapid and continuous : and with a full assurance of a still progressive advancement. An extensive suburb, with shops, warehouses, and villa residences, has taken the place of what, but a short five 3'ears since, was a dun and tenantless bush. Dav bv day the -shall we call it borough ?—of Uewfon is becoming more and more advantageously occupied, and with all the agreeables 'of the countrv it may very well, from its close proximity. be regarded as an almost integral portion of the city of Auckland. Messrs. Macfarlane|announee fifty-three choice allotments for public competition to-morrow. These allotments, we understand, are of considerable dimensions, many with frontages to the Great IS'orth Eoad. They form portions of blocks, some hundreds of lots of which have already been sold and built upon. The subdivision of these blocks has been carefully prepared by the Messrs. Tole. They are all liid ofl" at right angles. The streets (which are all dedicated) are wide and spacious. And as this will, in all probability, be the last opportunity of investing in that quarter, we have little doubt that they who are desirous of obtaining a pleasant and healthy freehold, will not let slip the present occasion. The terms of sale are such as are likely to meet the convenience of intending purchasers.
