Howes, from Newcastle, the 17th instant, arrived in harbour yesterday morning. She brings 174 head cattle, with the loss of only two: 1 cow and 7 horses will be landed here, and then the Rutgers will sail for Tauranga with the remainder of her cattle. Tho ketch Wild Wave, Capt. Wjatt, arrived from Kaipam yesterday morning, bringing a cargo of timber. The s.s. Prince Alfred sailed for Svdnev yesterday at 12-30 p.m. J J J 8 Sandfly, Capt. H. Marks, returned to harbour yesterday afternoon. She has been cruising round the islands collecting the census. , s - s - Salamander, for Newcastle, ship Columbus, lor Rangoon, schooners Irene, for Tahiti, Riwi, for -~°*p an !S a > and Sea Shell, for Poverty Bay, all cleared at Customs yesterday, and sail this morning. The barque Kate entered outwards at the Customs yesterday for Sydney, and sails to-morrow.
