MATCHLESS is a beautiful brown, aged 5 years, stands 1C hands 3 inches high, upon remarkably short lcgf, possessing immense power and substance ; whilst for symmetry and activity he standi unrivalled, with fine constitution and excellent good temper. His sire, that far-famed horse old "Matchless" the property of Sir. Daek, of Lincolnshire, which horse is the sire of more stallions than any horse in England. Grandsire "Active," the Champion of England he having won 17 agricultural prizes. " Matcliless's " dam, a splendid bay mare, by Mr. Eno's noted brown horse "Hornet Tom," "which was allowed to be the b'st that travelled in his dav. It will be seen from this pedigree that " Matchless " is descended, on both sides, from the verv best breed of cart horses in England, and cannot fail in getting horses of the highest value for agricultural and dray purposes. " Matchless" was shown at the Peterborontfi Agricultural Show when a yearling, and obtained the first- prize, beating- live others ; he also was shown at Peterborough Entire Horse Show, and obtained tho prize. Again, at Peterborough, in 1862, he took the prize, beating six others; and again, at Peterborough, in October 1563. he took the first prize of £20, beating a large field of his class—thus proving himself to be one of the best horses that England can produce. "Matchless" will stand at the following stations:— AYedncsdav and Thursday, Newmarket Hotel; Monday and Tuesday, Mr. Rickitt's stable, Otahuhu; Friday and Satui'dav, "VYhau Hotel: and Mr. John McLeod's, Henderson's Mil], Great >.orth Boaa.
