J his evening a detachment of the 43rd Light Infantry, which li£.ve been stationed at the East Redoubt, marched in about half past five o'clock, numbering 53 of all ranks. Th<y have given up the Ktdoubt to the militia stationed there. Tht'-y will be followed tomorrow by about the like number of the same regiment stationed at the Miranda Redoubt. It has been rumoured that it is the intention of the Lieu ten,'mt-General to evacuate the before mentioned redoiibt:
A detachment that was expected from the Miranda Hedoubt of the 43rd l-tegimeut, also about 150 offictrs and men of the 12th Regiment, and about 95 officers and men of the 2nd ISth Royal Irish ; this is the last detachment that has been stationed at the front. The men of the 43rd Regiment hail with delight the prospect of seeing our good old town of Auckland, having been stationed in such an outlandish plate for the last nine months. They have left a detachment of militia at both the redoubts, but it is expected that all will be evacuated, with the exception of the Jsurrey Redoubt.
