Levy, his third otienee was ordered to be imprisoned for seven days additional. mnjAcn or merchant sea mans' act, 1556. Augustus Johnstone was charged by Captain Unitlet!, of the brigantine 'Scotia,' withbeing guilty of rioious conduct, and creating a disturbance on board that vessel. Chailes Win. Bartlett' deposed: I am master of the • fcicotia.' Tlio prisoner is an articled seaman ou boiiid. Yesterday 011 coming l'roui shore about 11 o'clock in the morning to my vessel 1 heard a gre a noise and swearing. I found the prisoner 011 board drunk, lie had gone ou shore against the mate's orders and obtained drink, and afterwards abused the mate ami myself. The prisoner was very riotous and wanted his iiis charge. 1 produce tlie log with the entry didy made. J!y the prisoner: J did not sliove against yor. Yon used dreiuitul language towards juo on tlio quarterdeck. Tne prisoner was fined -10s. aud costs, or in default, -18 hours' imprisonment. MU.ITAIIY lIESEKTI'.K. Charles 3£. Zetir was charged with desertion from the otlth Hegiment, and was ordired to be handed over to the Military Authorities. l-MUEZZLI MEXT. James Williamson was brought up under warrant charged by W. U. Chishett, Deputy Assistant Commissary General, with having on 'J ujsday, the 25th instant, at Auckland, been guilty 01 embezzling certain ot her Majesty s naval and military stores, to wit : 19 beds, G wrappers, 30 blankets, 0 bed-covers, 2 pillows, 1 stretcher, 40 hummocks, 2 pillow-cases, and t bag of corn, contrary to the statute in such case made and provided.
Air. Meninum. appeared for tlio prosecution, and Mr. Beveridge for the prisoner.
Mr. jVlcrrinian applied for a romanil until Tuesday, in order that the case might bp completed in one day.
