The following general order from the Horse Guards, S.W., has been issued for the information of the Forces in New- Zealand :— •'His Royal Highness the Field-Marshal Com-manding-in-Chief, in reference to general order dated 27th July, 1853,' has now to notify to the army that by recent enactments 6'f the local legislature of'2vew Zealand the privileges herbtot'ore enjoyed by military and naval officers in the acquisition of lands in that colony, are abrogated, in so far as regards the provinces of Wellington, Hawke's Bay, and Marlborough. "By command of His Boyal Highness, '•(Signed) J. Yorke Scablett, ." Adjutant-General. " Horse Guards, " .July 14th, 1561."
