J have no alteration worth notice to report in the Share Market.. Although there is no lack of capital for investment, the present unsettled stnio of the Government has created a shyness to such an extent that it is impossible to procure oflbrs from buyers* unless at such a sacrifice on current rates as holders will not submit to.

H. P. Stahic, •Share P.roker. Queen-stroct, Auckland, October 21, USUI. AUCILAIS T I) V," EE KL Y T lIA D 1-1 SIT MM AJtY. 22ml October. Tka dk has been rather brisk the present week, and prices obtained for poods, botli at auction and private sales, bare ruled higher. Several large . parcels have changed hands, and although slocks are slill very heavy, holders maintain ruling quotations ; and >18 the consumption is getting larger, we may expect a decrease ol' our stocks in proportion. The following will be a fair guide of the present state of the market: —

i'lour. —Advices received from Melbourne, Adelaide, and Sydney, have occasioned a considerable rise in this market. Holders of Chilian Hour ask £23, and best colonial £2'l- 10s. to £25, and do not seem disposed to sell at a reduction of these quot'itions. We learn that several large parcels are likely to bo shipped to Sydney, holders expecting to obt;iin better prices ; but a? two cargoes may be shortly expected from Valparaiso, we shall hardly feel the loss of these shipments, and prices arc m.t likely to rule higher. Tea. —"We have to report a few sales of rations at from Is. 3d. to Is". 7d. per lb., in bond. A parcel of tine English teas, ex 'liandolph,' is now in the market; is likely to fetch high prices, tbe quality being very superior. Green teas arc still dull. Coffee.—A parcel of Plantation has been sold at IOJd., but beyond this, no other tale has transpired. Ale and Porter.—Good bottled porter is still in fair demand, and a few parcels have changed hands at 10a. 7(1. to Us. Jiottled ale i.s only slightly enquired for. In bulk beer, there is nothing doing

Wines unci Spirits.—Good ports and sherries are still enquired for, nnd tlio trade lias Yieen purchasing several lots at. fiiir jirieci. Ohamprmno is vcrv scarce, and a good parcel would find ready ra(i>. In spirit , there is nothing doinjr. Oilman's Jones & Co. licld ft largosale,.and in ctilnparison to jvhat \ve liayo been aceustnmcd to. lately, prices J-ule.d vcrv fair, bidding boinpr rathe** b:isl;. No private sales of any note have tran-Bpii-cd. Tobacco. —This articlo is still very mucli depressed, storks l»oiiifT exceedingly heavy;' but as several holders intend to ship to Sydney and "Melbourne, wo mav expect an improvement, in prices. Cigars.—"Wo have, not heard of any sales of Manilas.- A small parcel of Swiss cijrars has ehanirnd hands at 525. in bond. Tn ITavannalis, still nothing doing.
