N. liree, and seconded by John Taylor, Esq.— " That this meeting accept with much satisfaction tho explanation of Capt. Thompson relative to the projected steam communication between this place and Auckland, and do aprec to uivt> tin: company their full and coidial support, provided they are assured of a wcclly communication by eood and efficient steamers. At the same time, they beg to express ih'eir conviction that a ieduction ot the tales from Xt 10s. to £l .is. cabin, and from .CI /o Xt-is. steerage, would bcU'T inert the interests of tho companv, as well as the resources of the district." ] r >pOsed by Kol.t.
