ENTERED OUTWARDS. OCTOBER • 14—Salamander, b.s., for Newcastle. 13—Union, brigantine, for Newcastle. ARRIVAL OF THE STEINWAERDER, FROM THE CAPE OFCfOOD HOPE. The Hamburgh barque Steinwaerder, Capt. E ricksen, arrived in harbour yesterday afternoon, bringing 212 passengers from the Cape of Good Hope. She sailed on the 18th August, and had fine weather until making the coast of .Australia j passed through Bass's Straits, and since then had fourteen days' Easterly weather. Made the Three Kings on Wednesday last, and had strong winds down coast. The Steinwaerder brings a total of 212 passengers, there being on board 48 married males, 48 married females, 31 single men, 3 single females, 38 children, from 1 to 12 years ; 20 female do. do., 7 male children under I year old, and five femalo do. do. , 12 who pay their own passages, and 3 stowaways.- The following is a list of their names, &c. :—

" Gentlemen, —We, tho undersigned emigrants m board the barque Steinwaerder, beforo leaving the ihip, beg to express our acknowledgments to yourself 'or the kindness and attention shown to all, both by jfficers and crow, during the voyage from Cape Town ;o Auckland ; and cannot but express our conviction iat it is owing to your care and attention that so nany of the sick have been spared to reach tho end >f the voyage. O.i board the barque Steinwaerder, Captain Ericksen, Sik, —I feel it my duty to thank yon most sincerely for the kindness I received from you dming my long fcickneßs I endured on board. I tliank you very mueli for tho kind and prompt attendance you j aid me, and all the good things which you gave me to revive me from iny long and dreary sickness, and T also thnnk you for all the kindness which my wife and child received from you. Arjd it is my sincere •wish that tho Lord may spare you many a year after this, and that yon may always receive from others the same kindness which we received from you. Tho Steiuwaerder had no cargo whatever, and is consigned to Mr. C. Petschler. ; _ A barque called the Alfred was to follow her with a largo number of passengers a few days afterwards. The brig Annie Laurie for Valparaiso, and the schooner fc-ea Breeze for Russell, both left yesterday. The s.s. Wellington, Cnptain Francis, arrived in tho Manukau from the South yesterday morning. 3he sails again on Tuesday next. Owing to tho inadequate accommodation afforded for landing cattle, Messrs. A. S. Thomson &, Co., regret to have to announce that they will be unable to despatch tho s.s. Salamander for Sydney until Monday next. Tho barquo Amazone, Capt. Meyer, arrived at Kaipara on Tuesday last, and commenced taking in jargo. The brigantine Union, entered outwards for Newcastle yesterday. The s.s. Wonga Wonga leaves for Coromandel this corning, returning on Monday next, and will proceed to Wangarei direct on Tuesday. Tho barque Chance was positively to sail_from Melbourne for this port on tho 24th ultimo.
