" Major" won the first prize of £20 at the meeting of the Royal Agricultural Sociitv of England at Canterbury, Jul)- 38, being then two ye!j,rs old. He was selected and purchased by Thos. Crispe, Esq., of Batley Abbey, Sulfolk, for R. Q. Kermode, Esq., of Mona A r aJe, near liobart Town, Tasmania. He won the first prize at the Society's show at Campbell Town, IS6I, for the best imported dm ft stallion in the colony; and ho won the same prizo in the Society's show, held at Longford, in 1802. " Major" will stand this season at the Junction Hoti-1, on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday; at Otahuhu, at Mr. John J fall's, oil Monday and Thursday ; and at Panmure, at Mr. Browne's, on "Wednesday, in each week. | Terms, for the season :—Single mares, £7 10s. ; two or more, £7 each. The " Prince" is a beautiful blaclc, stands IG-J hands high, lias splendid ai tion, and beautiful proportion. lie was bred by Robert Hutchison, Esq., of Craigsland, Dundonald, Ayrshire, Scotland; sire, the celebrated Clydesdale "Prince Albert;" grandsire, " Fulton's Clyde ;" great grandsire, Frame's "Old Champion." Dam, by " Clydesdale's Rival." He was selected (after winning-, at three years old, one first and three second prizes) and imported to Victoria, where lie won two champion cups and two gold medals, besides several local prizes. He served three seasons most successfully in Victoria, his stock proving him one of the best sires ever imported to the colonics. The " Prince " will stand at the Junction Hotel on "Wednesday and Saturday; at Otahtihu, on Tuesday and Friday; and Panmure, on Monday and Thursday in each week. " Iron Duke " is a dark grey or brown, stands 17 hands high, bred by Mr. Towshend, of Stonov Staunton, nearly Hinckley,England; sire, "King Charles," dam, " Flora," which took the second prize at the Royal Agricultural Society's Exhibition at Shrewsbury, ami t!ie first prize at the Northampton Exhibition of the same society, as well as at the Provincial Exhibition of Leicester, liny by, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, and Hinckley. Iler first loal "The Black Prince," (half-brotherto the " Iron Duke") at three years old took the first prize for dray horses at the Royal Agricultural Society's Exhibition at York, and in the same year he won the Highland .Agricultural Society's Silver Medal at Edinburgh. "Iron Duke" was exhibited and won the first prize at the meeting of the Leicester Agricultural Society, against all horses, when hardly two yeais old. He won the prize for the best imported'heavy draft horse at Maitland, in New South Wales. " Iron Duke" will stand this season at the Junction Hotel, on Monday and Thursday; Otahuhu, Wednesday and Sat urday ; and Panmure, on Tuesday and Friday in each week. Terms for the season :—Single mares, £G 10s ; two or more, £6 each ; groomage, ss. Mares not proving in foul to the ' Duke" from last year will have services this year at half-price, and if put to either " Major" or " Prince" will be allowed £2 at the time of payment. Mares to be served either hobbled or loose, at tlie option of the groom. Mares not stinted towards the end of the season may change to either of the other horses as the owner may choose.
