CAPE OF GOOD HOPE.
Bv the Hamburgh barque " Stein warder,' which arrived in harbour yesterday afternoon, with immigrants from Cape Town, we have received Cape papers to the 17th August. In an article headed " Emigration to New Zealnnd." they say : — "To-day, tiie first band of emigrants to New Zealand will leave Table Bay, in the ' Steinwarder,' Erichsen. bound to New Zealand. The ship has been surveyed by the Hon. Mr. -Field, emigration agent, who lias certified to the Government that all requirements, according to the Passengers' Act, have been .duly fulfilled to his satisfaction ; that the provisions laden on board are of the best lcind, and sufficient, according to the requirements of the for one hundred and eighty statute adults lor a vo3'age of seventy days. " The passengers will embark this morning from the North Wharf. They number in all 200 souls, which is eqnal to 150 sfatute adults. " In a few weeks a second party of emigrants will be forwarded by the "Alfred;' and other vessels will follow. The application to Mr. W._ Berg for passages by these vessels still continue.'
