SAXBY'S PREDICTIONS FOR 1864 AND 1865.
"We publish, for the benefit of our readers, the following lists of days on which the weather may reasonably ho suspected as liable to a change, most probably towards high winds or lower temperature, being especially periods of utmospheric disturbance. 'L'ho "prediction as regards yesterday has certainly been fulfilled.
August 25th. September 2nd—9th —lsth —22nd—29tli. October 6th—l3th to 15th —19th —26th. November 2nd and 3rd—9th—15th —23rd —30th. December 6th—loth —20th —27th. 1805.—January 3rd —9th —10th —24th 30th. February sth—l3th—2oth—26th. X.U.—February 2Gth is likely to be a very dangerous period, with probably a high tide. March sth—l2th—l9th—26th. N.B.—Jlarch 26th will probably be a d.-mgerous period with high tide. April Ist— Sth— 16th— 22nd—2Sth. N.B.— The 24th to 28tli may very lkelv prove greatly unsettled. May 6th —13th —20th —20th. X.I J.—From 20th to 26th is likely to bo a very unscttlcd period. Juno 2nd—9th—l6th—22nd—29th. July 7th—l3th—2oth—27th. August- 3rd—9tli— 16th— 23rd— 30th. September 6tli—l2th—l9th—27th. October 3rd—9th— 16th—24th—31st. November 6th—l3th —2oth—27th. December 3rd—loth —lSth—24th—olst. The preceding apply to all parts of the earth s surface —even (iu a diminished degree) to the trade belts. X.P.. —Tf (ho day marked prove calm and still, distrust the day after, and especially the second day after. The changes vary in intensity, but at even at quiet periods they may be plainly traced in the si'ud living with a velocity totally at variance with the state of the air at the earth's surface, and the clou Is at such times generally have a liny or strati fie 1 appearance, which usually indicates approaching rain.
