Thes.s.. Xanthe, Capt. Scott, arrived from Newcastle, -with cattle, yesterday morning:. She sailed on the 9th instant, and had strong Easterly winds all the way across. "Whilst off the North Cape on Monday niirht last experienced a.heavy gale, from tho N.N.K. The Xanthe brings 2P9 head cattle, consigned to !llf c sip. J. l?ohcrton & Co. The ship Hydra was to leave Newcastle for this pcit on or ahnut the 12th instant. The following vessels sailed yesterday :—Pliillis, brig. and Frederick, barque, for Newcastle, N.S."\Y. ; Coral Queen, schooner, and "Will Watch, cutter, for the South Sea Islands : Svlpli, schooner, for liiissell : and Sandfly, gunboat, for Tauranga.
