Oats —Are not ottered so freely, but. still equal to demand, buyers not being anxious, and sellers holding for better pi-ices, trade is consequently dull at former rates. Hav—Not withstanding-the late trying weather for cattle, hav has not risen in r.ricc, and there is still more sellers than purchasers at market rates. Large quantities are still ottered at former quotations, but onlv a retail trade can lie done, piices averaging from £3 to £4 delivered in town.

Potatoes —The supply of this useful article appears to have suddenly ceased, at least the demand at present is either more than growers are willing to or can supplv ; prices to-day may he quoted at .£8 to £8 10s per ton.Stoek —Only a few head of cattle woro shown in the vard to-day for sale. Messrs. Aikman cS: AVilson sold seven milch cows at prices varying from £S to £10. Aiso, a small lot of young stock at £.5 5s per head. Horses. — Of all description are continually arriving here from both Noiili and South, and at present the market is ccmj litelv glutted with inferior horses which are sold at ridiculously low prices, still, firstclass. gnarantei il, fi ti-h.rd a good price. The present scareiiv of money can be the only reason of tho drug in inferior ai-.d medium class of horses. MELBOURNE. Fiom Melbourne we have papers to tho 22nd inst. The Art!us says The import markets to-day have shown no improved activity, and prices have undergone no change. Teas have been dealt in to some extent, at fully sustained juices. The stock in the colonies is believed to he small, and the markets which [have been denuded to meet the rise in this market, may have to look to Melbourne for supplies. The rates for flour have been well maintained, and considerable orders for the country districts have been executed at full current prices—say from £27 to £28. Sales of South Australian wheat are reported at 12s 3d per bushel. The damage to the crops of maize in New South "Wales owing to the heavy floods, reported from Sydney, has given an impetus to the prices of horse-feed, and somewhat extensive transactionshave taken place in oats. A parcel of over 10,000 bushels of Californian changed hands to-day at something above 4s per bushel. The exact price has not transpired. Sales of colonial-grown have been effected to considerable amount at improved rates. Export: entries were passed at tho Customs to-day for 18,2901- oz. of gold, of which quantity, 18,254 J ounces were shipped per Garrawalt for London, and twelve ounces, per Coorong, for Adelaide. ADELAIDE. Our Adelaide dates are to the 17th instant. The Jiri/istcr says: — Trade in produce has been exceedingly dull during the past week, and the only transactions that have taken place; have been small sales of wheat, by dealers and farmers, for the purpose of realising a little cash. Both wheat and flour are very firmly bold, and should there he any enquiry from tho other colonies, prices would soon be much higher. Elour: Quotations are from £20 to £28 per ton, but no business has been done, Wheat: Some small sales have been forced at 10-. Od per bushel at, tlii - port, but very little could be bouurht even at lis. Town prices, IPs Gd to 10s od. Bran has been in considerable demand, and large purchases have been made at from Is 2',d to Is 3d per bushel. There is hardly any in millers' hands, and prices are likely to advanc. Oat* and Barley: Cape barley is dull of sale. "What liitle English is offering finds buyers at from os Od to Gs per bushel. Farm and Dairy Produce : There is no change in prices this week. The supply of all articles is equal to the demand, except e<rgs, which are in short «upply. Potatoes are firm. Copper : The price has been reduced lo £03 per ton at the port. There is but liitle change to note in general merchandise since last week. Teas continue to improve in value, and sr/me large sales have been made to Melbourne houses. The ITavilah and Coorong are bejth taking heavy lots. Cigars are also improved, 91s having been obtained this week at auction. The cargo of sugar ex Wild AVave was all sold, with the exception of three lines: hut the prices obtained were rather lower than previous sales The following is a statement of the exports of breadstuffs for the we.-k ending on tho 11th instant: —Wheat, 3040 quarters; ilour, 1)82 tons; and bran and pollard, 14 3 tons. SYDNEY. (From the Herald, Juno 25.) There has been a littlo more activity in the share market this week, but the transactions reported are principally in the shares of our colonial banks. The fluctuations that have taken place are as follows: Commercial Bank shares have been dealt in at a decline of 10s. per share, but as this was a forced sale, holders are again asking higher rates; Bank of New South Wales shares are steady, and small sales have tt-.ken place at quotations; Australian Joint Stock Bank shares have been much sought after, antl and have improved 10s. to 15s. per share. Holders are now asking £l |. per share, and at. this price tliey are not easily obtained. The new shares have also participated in this improvement. City Bank shares are dull of sale. Steam shares are neglected, and the only sale lias been in lllawarra Steam Navigation shares. Insurance shares are dull of sale. Pacific Fire arid Marino Insurance shares have changed hands at. an improvement of 3s. per share on last price. United Insurance shares are unaltered. In Coal Company's shares there have been no transactions this week. Tho following are the price;s at, which sales have been made during- tho week: —Commercial Bank, £53

PEitENTrnrs. — Government debentures are steady. Terminable* have changed hands, due oil 1892, at. par and interest; and interniinablo £10 debentures at. £9S. Tho following table will show the closing prices of our securities, as well as tho rates at which sales have been made during the week ; — *

"We understand the lessor of the coal mines lately worked bv the Newcastle Coal and Copper Company lias resumed the mines, and is now shipping coals.

Piece the departure of the English mail perN"rtham, (here has 1 ecu very little business doing, ami we hare scarcely any alteration to report ill our markets. Elour is depressed, owing to late arrivals and an indisposition on the pari of buyers to operate. At auction, to-dav. forty tons of Hal t's Hour were oli'ered, and and bought in. The price for Adelaide, first brands, is nominally X2K per ton ; but to c'Uct sales to anv ameui-t. reduced rates must be MibmiUcd to. AVheat is quoted nt 12/' to 12/(>. l.iquids are about the same quotations. Prandy is verv (ii in. and holders are asking an advance of/:! per gallon. A lai'Lie 1 sale, aluuit 10,000 cases, of geneva, second brands, has been made, but. the jirice has not transpired. Teas continue very firm, and holders are realising full rates.

In the article of daily eonsuniptian we have no movement to record.

Lkatiikk.—AV. Dean.—Since my last report, prices have varied little from the quotations then given. llou.sk Maukkt. — Jlr. Charles Jlartyn re-poifs: — The horse market has hcc< me very bare of every description of stock, owing to Ilie impossibility of fresh lets being forwarded as usual to Sydney, in const quence of the heavy floods prevalent throughout the country districts. In the course of the Uazaar sales, in addition to the very limited supply of town horses, there wore but two small dralts of f'esh horses, both from the lllawarra district, which fotcht d from .€2 to £20 lit/ per head. At Campeiilown the sales were restricted to two drafts of light stock, at frem £1 to -CS la/ per head. P>uit and Co. repoit very little change in the horse market. The supply of country stock continues to be much under the demand, and the few horns biought forward have realised well. Theie are still numerous inquiries for superior animals, none other being saleable. Prices rule much the same as in former reports. SYDNEY MARKETS.
