SUPREME COURT.—CIVIL SITTINGS.

[Before Sir C. Alfred Anicy.fChief Justico.J; WEDNESDAY, JUNE 8. Upon his Honor taking his seat Mr. Merriman observed that he thought there was a chance of tiic only case remaining on the list, namely that of ■Grant •and another v. Bruce, being battled o\it of Court. And after some consultation mnongst tliu parties concerned, it was announced by Mr. Wynn that the case was settled by the plaintiff paying .£•500, each sido paying its costs, and a verdict to be given for plaintiff. A jury then being formed, his Honor remarked that in this caso the purtios concerned had come to an arrangement. The dispute ■was between a mother and her daughter and soii-in-law respecting the title of a piece of land. It had been arranged that the plaintiff should pay £300 and ihat defendant should make unsurances of the property at the expense of the plaintiff, plaintiff executing a release to the defendant of all claims, and the lease granted to Lyse by Bruce to be confirmed iy plaintiff for the remaindc-r of the term it had to run. It would therefore be the jury's duty merely to find a verdict for the plaintiff as a liiatter of ibrm. The other cases on the list were arraigned FOUSAITU V.
