Thk s.s. ' Otago' has been chartered lor the conveyance of troops to Tanmaki, and will proceed on Saturday next upon her voyage Southward. AYe believe that pan of the 70th iiegiment will be sent. AYlieu the ' Otago' left Taranaki on Moiulav lust, the ' l'rince Alfred,' from the Mauukuu, was passed steaming in for .New Plymouth. Tho ' Jlalhirat,' under charier to the General Government, proceeds in a few days to Mawke's Hay, via lauranga, where we suppose she will embark a detachment of one of the l\cirimcuts in part stationed there.
