Present, Mr. Tiirnbull, Mr. Swanson, Mr. Finlay, ill 1 . Darby and Mi', Macreailv. The chairman of the Hoard being absent, Mr. Finlav took tho cliair. A letter was also ]ani before tlie Hoard from Messrs. E. itiul 11. Isaacs asking for a>si.-«iance in forming'tho portion of the street opposite their store at tho corner of Fort and Commerce-stive's. It was moved that the letter be refined to the Streets Committee. The approval by the Streets Committee of the securities lor Webber's carting contract, was continued by the Board. A motion was then carried that tho path way in fro' 4of Mr. Williamson's shop in Queen-street, injured by the water supply, should be at once put in order, Mr. Williamson contributing £$. Tin- day for the meeting of the Appeal Committee was next settled for l-'riday next at 11 a.m. The motion that th" salary of the Secretary bo rai.>cd to peV annum from June next was then di.-cusr-ed, Mr. Swanson moving an amendment that tiie question be deferred till tho accounts were mado up, which was not seconded the original motion was carried.
