The barque Alice Cameron, Capt. Nearuig, sailed early yesterday morning for Sydney. _Xlie fine new cutter recently in course o" construction on. Custom-HousP-street, by Mr Hi.nson, was successfullv launched yesterday morning. She is a iine looking boat, of 22 tons register, built to tho cider oi Mr. li. Keane, and is named the "Janet ' Gniv." Mr. llanson is now about to remove to his new yard in Brickfield Bay, and at once lav down the keels for several vessels. The City of Melbourne sails for Sydney via Tau-. janga, early this morning. The s.s. 'Rangatira, Captain. Mundle, is duo from Napier and the South this day. The schooner Sen Breeze loaves again for Russell ' this day, as also the schooner Fairy, for Mongonui. Tho bargo Constance, 14 tons, Captain Skuse, sailed from Hobart Town for the Manukau on the 19th ultimo ; she is announced for sale upon arrival there. The Constance has the following cargo:— 34 pairs dray shafts, 3 do. cart do., 6 sets plough beams, 500 palings, 200 spokes, 250 post? and rails. The schooner Waverley, Captain W. Anderson, has heen laid on as a regular trader between this port and Dunedin, and is,announced to sail again for that port on Thursday next. The barque. A. W. Stevens, Captain Brown, entered outwards at the Custom House yesterday for Newcastle, and jails shortly. The ship Peerless, Captain Flavin, siuls again for Newcastle on Wednesday next. The schooners Zillah and Maid of Kent are both fast filling up for Napier, and sail in a few days From Xapier the Maid of Kent proceeds on to Lyttelton. •*" The steamer Susannah Cuthbert, Captain Dixon, has been laid on'the berth for the Picton gold-fields, and sails from the Manukau to-morrow. The steamer Novelty will proceed on n trial trip to Motutapu and back this day, starting at 9 a.m. this inorning. The ship Blandina Dudley, for Callao; barque ' ' Constance, for Sydney ; and barque Sir George Grey, for San Francisco, are all on the ove of departure. The barque Ann'and Jane came alongside the : -wharf yesterday morning, takingup the berth vacated hy the Alice Cameron. The clipper brig Reliance, Captain Riddle, is fast discharging her cargo, and is advertised to sail again for Hobart Town on Thursday next. The brig Prince Edward has been purchased by ■ Messrs. Stephenson & Wardell and Capt. Butt, and has been chartered hy Messrs. Combes & Daldy to proceed to the South Sea Islands for a cargo of guano. She sails on Wednesday next. The barque W. C. Wentwortli, Capt. Smith, arrived in the llanukau, from Newcastle, on Saturday last, having been 0 days in making the land, and 4days becnlmed oif the Manukau bar; but owing to . the late boisterous weather, did not reach Onehunga until 10 o'clock yesterday morning. She brings 400 : tons coals for the Commissariat, and is consigned to Messrs, Stephenson '& Waudell. We understand that . the vessel and cargo-have lieen purchased by the Commissariat. The steamer Prince Alfred arrived in the Manukau from Taranaki on TSuuday lost, and'Tlie schooner Excelsior yesterday. |
