The clipper barque Constance, Capt. The went her continued fair until 30° South latitude was readied ; here the wind set in from >'.E. with every appearance of keening so, so the vessfl was kept awav to the X. and -V.W.: continued on that tack till the latitude of 30 = N. and longitude 120- W. vim reached. On the 16th January, passed between Hualiine and Ullieta: had light fine weather on the t'alifornian coast, nnd arrived at Pan Francisco on the 53r;l day out. Sailed asain on the 10th March, with the wind from the >''.>'. W. : on the lltri fell in with a heavy pale from the S., accompanied by ft hi avy cross sea ; this lusted until the 18th, the gale during ihis time veering from 8. by W. to K.; neeordinjr n< the ship w:w hove to. or head reaching, for the gale being of the revolving type, and travelling slowly in its pith. ■Westerly, it took a lniig time to get away, nnd the ship had taken euch a severe list to starboard that it was not safe to put her head to the North, and consequently she was so much longer in the gale.
