Gold, Cohl, Fossils mid Minerals of every description; also .Manufactured Articles and Productions of this Province, to forward for Show to Die New Zealand Exhibition, to be held in OTA GO, on the FIRSI' TUESDAY of JAXCAKY, lSi>s. The Committee sire wit desirous of Imving tlm Province fully represented sir the forthcoming £ihibitton, especially in respect t* tho>e articles of natural production which ai-e likely to become staples of export. Tlie method of dressing and improving these articles is the next most important subject. Any information furnished on this head will be highly appreciated, a-.:d will materially assist the Committee with the objects in view. Specimens of Natural History ami information relative to Arts and Science are also required, especially such as shall exhibit the Geology and Mineralogy oi' this Province. The Committee recommend that a label should be attached by exhibitors to every article intended for exhibition, describing ioeaiitv where protrurable, or manufactured, and quantities likely to be obtained, and probable, cost. It is the intention of the Committee to hold an Exhibition in Auckland, of the collection, before transmitting it to at which premiums will be awarded for articles considered of sulh'rient merit. The commission nominated br His Kxcellency the Governor, have intimated that they will bo prepared to receive articles on and after tlie first day of October next, and have fixed tlie 12th of December as the latest date on which articles can be received; the collection from Auckland would therefore require to be shipped early in The Committee have fixed the 20th day of October as tlie latest date at which articles can be received in Auckland. As it is in contemplation by some members of the Committee and likewise by the Hon. Secretary to proceed with the collection, with a view of a proper supervision and bringing prominently under the notice of visitors the manufacturers and. products generally of this Province ; n favourable opportunity is thereby offered to manufacturers and others of introducing any articles with which they may entrust the Committee to exhibit. The Committee earnestly trust that every effort be made in furnishing a complete collection of articles manufactured and produced in this Province; and as they are fully impressed with the importance of Exhibitions generally, and the large amount of benefit resulting therefrom, they confidently anticipate that new resources of trade will open up in tlia export of many articles which uin now manufactured hy the aid of machinery and otherwise to a considerable extent in this Province. The Committee request that intending exhibitors will forward to the Secretary in writing with as little deliy as possible, a list of tlie articles intended to be prepared for exhibition, with tlie amount of spice (superficial area) required : also the wall space; as the Ist of May is the latest date allowed by the Xew Zealand Commission for receiving applications for space. The Secretary, or any member of Committee, -will be happy to afford every information in their power to intending exhibitors. The Committee will hold themselves responsible for the safe custody and delivery of all articles in Otago, tree of cost; the disposal of them after the close of the Exhibition is left discretionary with exhibitors. The prices may be affixed to aiiy articles exhibited. The Committee have made arrangements that any articles intended for exhibition will be received and stored free of expense by the Secretary. Even" care will be bestowed in packing aud transmitting to Otago. Subscriptions in aid of defraying the necessary expenses which will be incurred" in carrying out the above objects, will ne thankfully received by the Treasurer, or any member of the Committee. E.
