MESSRS. ST YAK AXI) HUNTER'S WEEKLY TUTOKT. Homes.—The supply was well kept up, and several heavy draught and other useful horses changed owners at high prices. Inferior hacks can hardly he sold at any price. We quote draught horses tit £37 to £70 ; saddle anil light harness, £17 to £10 ; hacks SA 159. to .£"11 10s. Fat Cattt.e. —The supply was not but the quality excellent; previous rate? were fully maintained. WV sold bullocks at- £lf> to .Clu ; cows, hL £10 ss. to £15 12a. fid. Fat Sukkp. There was a £joo;l «upplv of iium quality, which sold ar 30s. to 355. fid. Dai!!V and Stouk Cattt.i;. —Very few in tin" yards, ami the prices ottered not beins: satisfactory to the vendors, thev were almost all withdrawn. Milch cows, £10 10s. to £12 155.; store hellers, t'S to £10 2<*. f>d. Stohe Shkep.—Xone in tlio market. Pigs.—Sold at 325. to 85s. MK. WEEKLY RETORT. 3Tr. Bueklaud reports that during the past week considerable numbers of horses have been brought forward to the market, and the greater number disposed of. Priivs bavo been well sustained, best draught soing from £50 to .£9S: medium draught £24 to £36 ; hacks £14 to £20 each.
The sale on Wednesday was well supported, eighteen hordes were sold. The cattle market which was almost bear of fat stock has been freely replenished by the arrival of tiW-ehiss stock from Oipp's Land. The mil-go of the ' Kate Waters.' 19S head, were sold on Monday last ; thev were eagerlv competed for and brought an average of £17 55.; they were of a better quality than we have hitherto received, and were landed in excellent condition. Fat cattle on Thursday were ss. per 100 lower than that of the previous week. Colonial store cattle are higher in price, from 10s. to 15s. each. Dairy cows were plentiful, but those of best quality brought long prices, £M 0 10s. to £34; good cows second-class in quality, from £13 to £20. Fat sheep were lower than last week fully as. per head, there was not a large supplv. The market for store sheep was well supplied. Newcastle wethers withdrawn, lfis. fid. being the best, prices offered. Napier wethers sold at 225. each. Half-bred hogget, 225. each ; wether hoggets 19s. fid. oacli.
