Yoh-knrr I | rnirrc LOCAL COMMITTKK, r.<»minan>d by His _L Honor Lho Superintendent, respectfully solicits tlie co-operation and assistance of the public geneiiilly. in obtaining sample* and specimen# of Wool, Flax, Timber, Cereals, Kauri Gum, Gold, Coal, Kos>ils and Mineral? of every description ; also .Manufactured Articles and Productions of this Province, to forward for Show to tlie New Zealand Inhibition, to be held in OTAGO, oil the FIRST TI'KSDAV of -JANUARY, ISGS. The Committee! are very desirous of having this Province fully represenied at the forthcoming Exhibition, especially in respect, to those articles of natural production which are likely to become htaples of export. The method of dressing and improving these articles is the next most important subject. Any information furnished on this head will be highly appreciated, and will materially assist the Committee with the objects in view. Specimens of Natural History and information relative to Arts and Science are also required, especially such as shall exhibit the Geology ! unci of this Province. The Committee recommend that a label should be ! attached by exhibitor- In every article intended for : exhibition, describing locality where procurable, or 1 manufactured, ;md <»uantitied likely to be obtained, j and probable cost. \ it i» tho intention of tlie Committee to hold an j Kxhibitiou in Auckland, of ihe collection, before j transmitting it to at which premiums will be . awarded for art icles considered of ,-utlicient merit. The commi>siou nominated by His Excellency the ! fiovcrnor, have intimated that ihey will be prepared to receive articles on and after the first day of October next, and have H\cd the 12th of December as the latest dale on which articles can be received ; ' the collection from Ancklaad would therefore require to be shipped early in November.
