James Hogan, a deserter from Ist Waikafo .Militia, was lined -IJs. and costs, or '13 hours' hard labour. JJis Worship taking occasion to remark upon tho lax manner in which the men of the Waikato Militia were permitted to absent themselves without leave sometimes for more (han a week at a time, without any search being mnde for them. .Tolm Dorau was lined 20s. and costs or 9 days imprisonment.
