It would almost seem as if Ihe melancholy wail of funereal music had become a wecUv visitant in this city. Vc.-lcrdiiy afternoon. Ihe residents in the vicinity of Ollicial Jiay were aroii>ed bv Ihe touching strains of the "'Dead .March in S'aul." feelingly rendered by ihe accomplished baud of H..M.S. • (.'iiraf-oa,' niar-haliing the way to the house appointed lor all liviny;. a'nd nicivim; from lln- "Wynyiird l'ier. bv .I'riiiccs-slivi-l. l.> tinAlbert r.arracks. uliere the corpse, borne on the shoulders el" six seamen, fnlhmed hv the ship',, company ami sc\eral oilicers-ol the " (.'ura'.-oa,' we encountered ihe funeral of James .MacTeav, a seaman b.-i<ii:ging to 11.31.5. - J larrier,' who. yesterday, died of consunij.'tioii on board the " Cura<joa.'
On entering the Albert .Barrack gate, the dead march was heard, poured forth by the line band of the s«>(h regt. preceding the "corpse of "William Trjicey, :i soldier of the slllli regt.. whose body was being conveved to the cemeterv.
The procession having hailed in front of I lie Ollicers" 3Jcss House, (lie sailors advanced and the body of I heir departed comrade was placed side by side with that of the dead soldier. The nivlf'tiv was then reformed, a living party, mostly bandsmen of the liSth regt., lending: the bands of the ."nth regt. and ' Curaooa' following, and seamen and soldiers bringing up the rear. The sailor i\a-; inlerred in the i'rolestant, the soldier in the lfoninn Catholic graveyard.
