Ali the articles offered for issue to be of tho beet marketable quality of their several kinds, and subject to the approval or rejection of the Senior Commissariat Oilicer. or Officer appointed by him for that purpose, and if rejected other supplies of a satisfactory nature are to be nt. o;ice substituted; failing wh'ich. or if the deliveries are not made at the tiinoiind place 'appointed, the Commissariat Officer, or, in his absence, the Paymaster of llie Ship, to have power to purchase nt the Contractor's expense. 2. Articles specially imported or taken out of bond for anv of ihe above services will be free from Colonial duties. 3. It shall be in the power of cither party to this Contract to terminate the same by giving to the other three calendar months' notice of the same in writing ; such notice shall not be considered valid unless given on the. first day of a month, and within the. period for which the Contract is made. 4. On the production of the Contractor , * accoant on the prescribed form, with the requisite vouchers, in a j complete state, he will be paid the whole amount in ! one bill upon the Lords' Commissioners of Her | Majesty's Treasury, at par, when it exceeds £50; when uiid(T that sum, payment will be made in coin. Contractors will have no right to claim payment of their accounts within ton davs after the. close of the month. 5. Each Tender must bear the loud Jirfe sitpmtitrcs of two responsible and approved sureties for the due performance of the Contract, and should the Tender be accepted, they, with the Contractor, must attend at the Commissariat Office wihin six days to sign n Bond, the penalty of which will be about one-fourth of the whole sum that will probably be paid under tho Contract. Persona tendering are warned against writing the names of proposed sureties Ihemeelves. 0. Each cask of Halt Bed' and Salt Pork to be opened in the presence of a Commissariat Officer, or person appointed by him, and repacked at the expense of the Contractor, aud only the best pieces will be selected. 7. Tho Commissariat to have the right of importing r.nd issuing any supplies during the period of these Contracts. S. forms of Tender, mid any information may be obtained at (hi- ollice. No form of Tender will be issued after noon of Wednesday, the 21th inst. 'J. Tenders on the printed form must be properly filled up, signed, and delivered in duplicate, at this o!l:ce, under a sealed envelope. To or from Auckland to Razorback Hill Also— The rate, per diem per dray, with driver and two horses, for general service. Tho contractor to lind provisions for tho driver and forage for the horses, and to keep tho drays in repair. Each tender to state the number of drays to bo at the call of tho Government on any ono day, and the contractor to bo held responsible, for all losses or damage done, to goods during the time they were in hi.s possession. Tho drivers will be required to give all assistance in their power in loading aud unloading their drays, and each dray must be provided, if wanted, with a j largo tarpaulin. j The contractor will have to execute a bond, and find, two substantial sureties for tho duo performance of the contract.
