The clipper schooner Sea Gull, Captain McDonald, lmved at Kaipara from Sydney, on Thursday last, liter an eight days' passage. She sailed on tho 29th alt., and by her we have received copies of the Sydney Morning Herald of the 28th and 29th December. The bngantine Martha Ellen, Capt McAlpine, had arrived at Kaipara from tin's port, nnd would sail igain next week. She ia loading timber and kauri fum for Auckland.
The Surprise, schooner, is also loading timber iit Kaipara for Taranaki. The cutter Diamond, Landers, master, arrived from the Thames on (Saturday morning last, briiuring up several of the "\Yaikato Militia. Shu left again the same afternoon, with provisions, &<■. The Commissariat steamer Lady Barklv lias been ordered to the AYaikato river for service in the Transport Department there. She is to leave with this morning's tide, if the weather is favourable. Two large boats purchased by the Commissariat, and intended for the Transport Service on the AYaikato river, were brought on shore at the AYynvard Pier yesterday evening, and placed on carriages", in readiness for their transmission bv wav cf Mauukau. The barque Noveltv, Captain' I'. Jones, entered, outwards at Sydney for this port on the 'JSth nit. Shewas to sail aboiit the Sth instant. The following vessels from London may now be looked for at any moment:-—l'it v of Manchester, ship, ■t!'e tons, Yale,"lOi> days out ; Ulcouts, ship, (>7l tons, 107 days out: John Duncan, ship.
