In no season that we remember do we recollect seeing them in better condition. Much of this is due to the mildness of the winter, and the. English masses which •are beginning to spread over the whole°country, and now present a mass of luxuriant green waviii" sward. The best sheep we have seen were also from XSunnv's station, some running over 80 lbs., and fetched 25s "all round ; a lot from Cameron's were sold for 20s each. Average price 4;d 'to per lb. DUNK DIN LIVE STOCK MARKET. [i'rom the " Oiago Daily Times," December 7.]

WuuniT, Koheiitsox & Co. report for the -neck ending December sth, ISG3 :—

J he market this week has been animated on account of the moderate supplies to hand. Fat cattle and sheep remain still in active demand. For store cattle, however, the enquiry is not so brisk. The Dudbrook, from Newcastle, arrived during the week with the first cargo of stock imported since the rescinding of the prohibition upon importation from that port, and we anticipate upon the excellent condition and quality of the cattle landed, that considerable shipments will be made thence. The arrivals during the week have been—the Dudbrook, from Newcastle, with cattle and sheep .: New Great Britain, from Twofold Bay; and the Star of the South s.s. from Wellington, with cattle.

Fat Cattle continue in good request, both for the up country and town trade. The only lot landed were 100 head cows and bullocks, ex Dudbrook, from Newcastle, of fair quality, which sold at from iilC to ,C 25 10s per head, averaging £22 round. Ve quote prime quality beef, GOs to u'os per lOOlbs ; second do. do. 60s to 555.

Far Calves, none on hand. "We sell readily sit from £ t to -tG ouch.

Store. Cattle—The demand for this class of slock is slack. Our sales consist of 139 head, mixed provincial cattle from Canterbury province at £13 5s per head; also the shipments, ex Dudbrook, from Newcastle, at £12 per head. We quote provincial cattle over two year?, £13 to £11.; mixed do £11 to £13 ; ship bullocks, 3 to 5 years old, £12 to £13 ; mixed do., £0 to £10.

Working bullocks are little in demand. Good workers mav be quoted at from £15 to I'oO per pair; inferior do, £30 to £33.

Milch Cows in full milk arc much inquired for, and sell readily at from £20 to £25 per head. Pat Sheep are in very active request, the trade having very meagre supplies on hand. \\ r e yarded two small lots of imported sheep (shorn) of good and middling quality ; 100 head, ex Dudbrook, from Xewcaslle, which realised 33s each, and 100, ex I'luebo, from 'Wellington, brought '10s each. 'We quote mutton, prime quality, Sid to Slid per lb. ; second do., Gd to Id.

Store iSheep.—Few provincial sheep have changed hands this week. We have to report the demand lively for both ewes and wethers. We quote 2, 1, and G-tooth provincial bred ewes, after shearing, 30s to 32s ; do. do. wethers, 28s to 30s ; ship ewes, 2, <1, and G-tooth, 2*Js to 27s ; do. wethers, 22s to 21s.

Station Property. —We have no transactions to report.

1 Torses. —Our yards have been fairly supplied willi nil descriptions oi' horses. The extremely low price of cartage to the various gold-fields lias caused teamsters to lill the market with heavy draught stock, in consequence of which there have lately been more sellers than buyers. The sort mostly in demand are the medium priced nuggctty Kind adapted for packing and up-country work. The line ■weather has caused the market to assume a soundness which for some time has not characterized it, with every probability of a good trade to continue. The following quotations may be taken a-s ruling rates : —First class heavy draught mares and geldings, from £75 to £SO.; second clnss do. do., from i'3s to £50 ; first class harness and saddle hacks, from £10 to £50 ; second class do, from £25 to £'30; common hacks, from £12 to £20; nugcetty packers, from £2 5 to £30. WlilC.'lfT, JiOHKKTSoX ec Co. Stock .Salesmen and Station Agents. Duncdiii, sth December, ISO 3. SYDXEY JlAKKKTS.—Fiiiday, Dr.c. 5.

The Mills.—Flour (silk dressed), £15 per ton j second quality, £13. Bran, Is. Od. Wheat, ss. (jd. to tis. per bushel.

Biscuit. —Mr. "Wilkie's quotations are, for cabin 205., ancj for navy 15s. per lOOlbs. Mr. Hamilton's: ship 155., cabin 20s. per 1001b*. Bnr.Aß—ld. j>cr 21b. loaf.

Vegetables.—Potatoes Gs. to 7s. 6d., per cwt.; onions 16s. to 18s. per cwt. B.uik-—Os. to ss. (id. ix-r cwt.

"We have to record another dull week in the share market. The tightness in the money market, and the high rates which money commands no doubt deters many capitalists from investing at present, and this may account for the stagnation in the share market. Holders, however, arc not forcing sales, consequently prices are not affected in any marked manner. The fluctuations that have taken place are as follows: —Hank shuns) arc nut quite so much in request, with the exception of Commercial Bank shares, for which full rates could be obtained. Bank of New South Wales Shares arc not so firm, and sales have been made at a decline of 20s. per .share on the last price quoted. Union Bank shares have been dealt in at an advance of £2- per share on last sale. Australian .Joint Stock Bank sharesareinaetiveatquotations. City Bank Shares are steady at 7s. 6d. per share premium. In Steam shares there has been very little doing. Australasian Steam Navigation shares have changed hands at full Kites. Insurance shares rule about the same as last week.

Business lias been pretty active during the week, orders for the country having come more freely to-! hand. There is, however, no material alteration in prices—although, should the new tariff pass higher rates will have to ho submitted to. A steady business has been done in Hour, although the speculation in this article has ceased. Adelaide is quoted at £1-1 to .Ci 4 10s. ]vor tun. Wheat, (is. to 6s. 4d. per bushel In liquids, the only alteration is in rum, which is a shade firmer. Sugars and teas have not been dealt in to any extent, and prices rule the same as last week. Bice is steady, and Patna is quoted at £20 to .£•2 l pur ton, "but very little doing. Tobacco. —There has been much animation in this article during the past week, on account of speculators throwing balance of their stocks into market —to close accounts, as 'A'e understand, before the termination of the year. Stocks of all kinds of South- | ern manufacture, although somewhat degenerated in quality are but a bagatelle when distributed amongst tfie trad'- ; and whether the war in the States continues, or is liroiight to a speedy termination, _ Virginia tobacco must succumb to a variety of substitutes for years to come, opening up a brilliant prospective for the Australian grower and manufacturer. Prices j remain about the same, but with the new year there mnst CO' - a chance. . Cigar -No .speculation in the article—importers j holding hiilic of stocks, ami no alteration in the ligiu-e.— Humid, December 5. ADKLAIDK. \ Monday, 7th Decemlicr. A letter from Mr. Hargrouves" states that he has found one small gi:-in and two specs of gold at live feet depth in Great George Boolaparinga (r) It is reported many volunteers could be obtained here for Now Zealand." At auction to-dav 300 tons of Harrison s silk-dressed Hour wore sold at".£ll 10s; 53 bags wire-dressed at £■10 ss, exclusive of carting from the port. Messrs. Townsend sold one-third of the cargo of H""ar, ex William, from, the Mauritius. Lowest counter, £22 15s, snowdrops, £39. It is reported a company are about starting a woollen manufactory, with every prospect of success.
