JOSEPH COCHRANE, Auctioneer. It is needless to point out now to an Auckland public the advantage of investing in this rapidly prospering Township of Pokeno. Already large profits have been ollered to the fortunate first purchasers, and traders and tradesmen have made n their home ; for its permanence ns a British Settlement and an important Military Post, is no longer a matter oi doubt. Indeed, situated as it is on the Waikato thorou Mi fare, one stage from Drury and close at hand to the river; while, likewise possessing every facility for a large Settlement, it may be safely predicted that it will "go ahead" and rise into prosperous importance faster than even the capital itself has doue. A correspondent iu the Herald of the 20th inst., thus records his first impressions of the place : — " It is astonishing the air of complete settlement " here. There is the Redoubt 300 feet squaro, inside "of which are clustered wooden offices and tents, " spread around outsido are the tents of various de- " tachments and of tho Artillery. Stretching away " ri"ht and left aro cxcellont metalled roads, and for " aomo little distance along them wooden and iron "buildings stand, or are in course of oroetion; " everything Speaking out; that the PaJieha has " settled here fipr ever, and that the Maori need hope " to reign po mote."
