Per Wilhelm, from Mauritius :--2SO tons 1 cask rum, Henderson and Maefarlane. ° The schooner Mavis, from Maketu; Kauri, frortiLytteltoii, rid the Coast; and cutter Planet, from Poverty Bay, all arrived yesterday morning. The s.s Lord Ashley, Capt. Randall, is due from the South this day. The brig Wee Tottie cleared for Launeeston yesterday, as also the ketch Courier, for Oamaru. The Courier goes via "Wangapoa, where she will ship a full cargo of sawn timber. By the lust mail from England wc leam that our old friend Captain William Kean has succeeded in purchasing three vessels—a brig and two brigantines for the New Zealand trade. The brig is named the Venus, is about 230 tons register, and said to be a fine craft. She was to load at London for this port via Adelaide and Wellington. The brigantines would lollow soon after. At the date ol last advices from England, Messrs. Houlder Brothers had chartered a new ship to proceed to Auckland. She was announced to sail on or about the 20th October. The fiags of the various vessels in harbour were yesterday tlown hall-mast, as a mark of respect for the deceased ofhecrs, Captnins Mercer and Phelps There was no news of the s.s. Wonga due from Raglan and the South on Wednesday last, having arrived in the Manukau up to yesterday evening. She is announced to leave again on Saturday next. ARRIVAL OF THE QUEEN OF THE MERSEY. The ship Queen of the Mersey, Captain Aitken, arrived m harbour yesterday afternoon, after a passage of 118 days from Gravesend. Slia sailed on the and too ' t: her final departure from Scillv on the Bth. Crossed the equator on the 17th September, and passed the meridian of the Cape of Good Hope on October 16th. The first land made on this coast was the Three Kings, on the 23rd instant, 'm - V VCs3c i W;lB scen ; she was bound for ChiDa. lhc Queen of the Mersey experienced a constant succession of light and contrary winds to the line, and oil t.ie Cape of Good Hope had a week's easterly wind. She brings an addition to our population oi l-o souls, all well, there having been no deaths oi births on the passage. The clean and healthy mauner m which the ship has come into port reflect! great credit on Captain Aitken and his officers. Ihe Bremen barque Wilhelm, Captain Louis Farrelmann, anchored shortly before the Queen of the Mersey. She is from the Mauritius, whence alio sailed on the 4th Octobor ; expuriencod variable principally W. and N. W., on the vJsZI across. The Wilhdm is a new ship, about'Sn months old, and now on her Orst voyage, and has made a good passage of fifty-three days from Port Louis She brings a large cargo of sugar, and is consigned to Messrs. Eendernon & Manfarlane. '
