f'Froin the "Times,» November 10J Mr. Alport reports sales by auction Nov. ? cs follows : —At Market. —Small pigs brought 9s. to 9s. Od each ; fowls, ss. Gd. and 6s. per couple ; potatoes, £21 per toil; dried Call, I Jd. to 2J. per ib ; a parcel of furniture, basket ware, groceries and oilman's stores, brought fair prices, the attendance being good. Under the verandah of the White Hart, at 3 o'clock, 5 sections, each quarter acre, in the township of Ashley, respectively brought £10, £10, £53, £55. £75, cash ; 1,50 acre section in the Ashburton district, new the roadway reserve brought £150 each. The sections in the township of Weedon were withdrawn, the oilers not being equal to expectation, but they will be again otlered on Saturday next, at the same hoar, (3 o'clock) under the verandah of the White Hart, under fresh instructions. Messrs. Aiknian <fc "Wilson report f. steady trade in all kinds of horned stock at fully former rates. The following lots have been disposed of—so head young steers, ex Gazelle, at £8 15s. per head ; 35 headycung steers, ex Valiant, at £S 15s. per head ; small lot yearlings, £6 per head, 75 head inferior, and principally yearlings, at £6 15s. per head j 195 fat wethers, at 6d. per lb.; at auction to-day, 30 head of cows and heifers, newly landed, and in poor condition, sold for £9 to £15 10s., average £12. Messrs. W. &. X. Joynt report a very large attendance at their store on the 71 h Nov. The'prices realized have been much more satisfactory than for the past month. ThOy quote potatoes, £22 per ton. (lour, Cl 9 do. ; Company's pieces sugar, Xo 1, £s(> do., Mauritius crystals, do., £51 do., American hitters, 2-nal. eases 035.; Price's Belmojit sperms, J6d peril).; French do. 14d. do.; bacon, £5. Itid per cwt. Three trunks of boots, and a quantity ofSciteh tweed clothing brought fair prices. Mr. V\ r . D. Barnard reports for the week ending Nov. 9th:—Til:' demand for good draught stock as active as ever, 0 marcs and geldings, lately arrived from Sydney, attracted a large company in the llaznar and realized from £14 to £SO, a veraging £05 10s. each, 26 saddle and light harness horses wore disposed of atprices varying from £18 t.o £ to, averaging £28 10s. per head : 2 working bullocks, £12 ; 2 cows ; 13 10s each ; 3 tip-carts, £11, £18. and £19 each, 2 springcarts, £20 and £25, &c., &c. Messrs. Woledge & Co. sold the lease of 1 sections of land, Nos. 39 and -11, and 43 and -15, on Che Plan of the Municipal Estate. They were knocked down at the upset price of 30s per foot frontageMr. Olliver's monthly sale at Spreido.'i market took place on the Ith inst. The quality of stock was not so good as we have seen offered on former occasions, still the attendance of our purchasers was good and fail - prices were realized, as follows :— 500 cull ewes (Merino) fetched from 2Gs. (o 30s. per heal, 22 head of cattle, consisting of cows and steers fetched .62 to .621 each ; 10 yearlings fetched from £7 to £10 each; 1 full-grown pigs fetchc-A £13 10.?. the lot ; 3 draught horses sold for £ 10, £12, and £("!3 each, 1 inferior saddle horse, £115; 1 pair of double iron gates sold at .CO ss. per pair; I spring cart, £21.
