THE NEW TARIFF. [Concluded from our last.]
The schooner Governor Hobton, was launched from the slip, on Saturday l**t, after having undergone a thorough repair.
We believe the barque Indemnity is the next vessel to be placed on the slip.
The barque Eleanor, 496 tons, Capt. Holderness, which arrived in this port in November 1841, from Sydney, and sailed for Bombay ; was totally consumed by fire, on the 27th September last, whilst lying in Allepee roa is, supposed to have been set on fire by the crew. The Eleanor was bound from Bombay to Calcutta, loaded with salt and coir rope.
Birth. — On Wednesday, February 1, the wife of Mr. John Duck, late of Bath, now of Wellington, of a son.

Copper, ore of, viz :—: — Containing not more than 15 parts of copper, per ton of metal Not more than twenty parts do Containing more than 20 parts, per ton of metal Oil, train, blubber, and spermaceti, the produce of fish or crea-tures-living in the sea, taken and caught by the crews of British vessels, and imported direct from the fishery or from any British possession, in a British vessel Spermaceti, of foreign fishing (from and after sth July, 1843,) per tun Bark, for tanners' or dyers' use, per cwt. . . Seal in the hair, not tanned, tawed, or in any way dressed, the skin of British taking imported direct from the fishery or a British possession, the dozen skins Flax and tow, or codilla of hemp or flax, whether dressed or undressed, the cwt. .... Bass ropes, twines, and strands, the cwt .... Cables (not being iron cables) tarred or untarred, per cwt not being iron cables, in actual use of a British ship, and being fit and necessary for snch ship, and not, or until, otherwise disposed of if, and when otherwise disposed of, for every £100 value .... Coir rope, twine, and strands, the cwt. .... Cordage, tarred or untarred, (standing or running rigging in use excepted,) the cwt. ..
