NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that on Monday, June 6, 1842, the township of Wanganui and Country Sections in that district, will be thrown open for selection at the Resident Surveyor's Office at Wanganui, at 11 a.m. precisely, and close at 4 p.m. ; one half the choices will be made on the first day, and the remainder on the second or following days. The Plans will lie open for inspection at the Principal Surveyor's Office at Wellington, and at the Resident Surveyor's Office at Wanganui, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily until the day of selection. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a Surveyor will leave this Office on Monday, May 30, at 9 a.m. precisely, and will proceed to the district of Pawai-tangi-mu for the purpose of pointing out to Proprietors and Agents the Preliminary Country Sections chosen in this district at the last selection, viz., on the 7th and Bth April, 1842. Proprietors and Agents interested in this district, are accordingly requested to accompany the Surveyor to the Pawai-tangi-mu, that they may be made acquainted with the boundaries of the several sections, since the Principal Surveyor will not undertake to point them out on any other than the day above stated. BETHUNE & HUNTER have received instruction to sell by public auction, at the Wellington Exchange, on Monday the 7th day of June next, IN LOTS OF FIVE OR MORE ACRES, those two Sections of land forming Nos. 5 and 6 on the Surveyor General's Plan of the FERTILE AND BEAUTIFUL DISTRICT OF OREWENUA, judiciously chosen by R. Stokes, Esq., adjacent to the splendid River MANEWATU. These lands are partially wooded with timber of the best description, and are generally level, and equally adapted for agriculture or grazing, the pursuit at present receiving so much attention in this Colony, and possessing every requisite for either. No opposition need be apprehended from the natives, who are believed to be very desirous of having settlers among them to create a demand for their labour. The proprietor waves, in favour of the fortunate purchasers, the right of forming a Town or Village in one of the most eligible parts, and is confident the really valuable qualities and locality of these lands will be estimated particularly by parties desirous of settling at once, as well as to capitalists wishing for a good investment. Plan of the ground may be seen at the Exchange. Terms— -purchases not exceeding £10, 3 month ; £10 to £20, 3 and 6 month's : above £20, 3, 6, and month's bills. Wellington, May 26, 1842.
