TELFORD having recently made ex-i-TJL tensive purchases, begs to announce to his friends that he has on sale, HARDWARE of the first quality, including a great variety of nails. FLOUR of first and second quality. GROCERIES. — Tea, sugars, coffee, butter, soap, candles, rice, curry powder, pickles and sauces, spiceries, &c. WINES AND SPlßlTS.— Besides the usual supply of wines and spirits, there is a considerable quantity of Scotch Whisker ; and a limited quantity of Colonial Whiskey. BOOTS AND SHOES.— There has been received a quantity of Wellington boots and Warren's blacking. BLANKETS. — Fresh arrivals have come to hand in 8-4 and 11-4, of various qualities and prices. j HABERDASHERY.— There is a select but limited quantity on hand, including tapes, threads, black and coloured sewing silks and twist, darning cotton, needles, combs, India silk and cotton handkerchiefs, braces, &c. I DRAPERY. — White cotton shirting, stout unbleached cotton, 40in. wide, cotton checks, dark prints, &c. &c. OIL AND LAMPS. — This latter has received an increase of the best quality that has yet been offered in the Colony. There has also come to hand a small lot of straw hats, sou' westers, Scotch caps, umbrellas, &c. CLOTHING, consisting of Jackets in beaverteen, corduroy, and duck ; waistcoats, in swandown and beaverteen ; duck trowsers, &c. ; regatta, unbleached cotton, & stout striped shirts ; Guernsey frocks, shirts, blue and red serge ditto, cotton and worsted hose. TO THE RETAIL TRADE. Mr. Telford has peculiarly favourable attractions for the Trade in An extensive supply of rice, Raw sugars. STATIONERY, consisting of da/ books, pocket ledgers, note, memorandum, and pass books, writing paper, ink, slates, sWfe pencils, Src. Ticking. A few sets of scales and weights still on hand. SNUFF.— Mr. Telford announces a fresh arrival of tliis article, in various superior qualities ; and snuff boxes at moderate prices. November 9, 1840. FENCING POLES. "V JR. TELFORD is authorised to receive IYJL orders for this article, to be delivered at Lowry Bay, the Beach atPetoni, oratWellington. HOUSE FOR SALE. . That well finished and water tight Wooden House, occupied by Mr. Grace ; 14 feet square, and 7* feet high in the walls. It is the best model of a comfortable small house yet built in the Colony. Petoni, Sept. 18, 1840. WEEKLY MARKET. MR. J. TELFORD has arranged to have a weekly market on MONDAY and SATURDAY EVENINGS, at his Warehouse, from 4 to 7 o'clock, being intended chiefly for the accommodation of Workmen's Families. The following articles will be sold in small quantities, at reasonable prices :-~ Flour, sugar, tea, coffee, butter, cheese, candles, soap, &c. &c. Port Nicholson, June 15, 1840. BARRETT'S HOTEL. R BARRETT begs to inform the Colonists • of Port Nicholson, that the above Hotel is now open, and trusts by affording every accommodation to his guests, to merit a continuance of the patronage already bestowed upon him. Wines, spirits, ale, and porter, of the best quality. An ordinary daily at two o'clock. Cold c illations always ready. Good beds. THE HOPE COFFEE AND EATING HOUSE.
