Once upon a time there lived a kind-hearted Wellington citizen who had devoted many years of his life to performing little acts of kindness for his wife. Finally she died, and he rested from his labours. In the fullness of time his soul took the upward flight. He arrived at the Golden Gate in a thoughtful mood. "Welcome," said Peter. "Come right along. Your wife's here, waiting for you." "Urn -just so," said the arrival. "I was just wondering. Doessshee —er —does what she wears button tip the hack?" * * * * "My friend," said the solemn-faced mail. "The second coming of our X»ord may happen in our time." "M— yes," said the hardened Wellmgtonian, "You never Know, do you?" Anyway who's going- to receive? .Jimmy' Allen or J. P. Luke?"
