Orchardists are notified by advt. in this issue of their obligation to register during this month all orchards from which fruit is sold or which have been planted for that purpose but are not yet in bearing. Registration is free.

A monster plain and fancy dress ball will be held at the,- Town Hall on Tuesday, 17th September. The proceeds will be devoted to the Italian Hed Cross Society to purchase comforts for troops in Italy. A very energetic social committee has been set up. It is expected that their Excellencies, Lord and Lady Liverpool, the Mayor and Mayoress, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Luke, and other leading citizens will be present. It is hoped that dancing enthusiasts will take advantage of the occasion to assist a very worthy object. Full particulars regarding the function are given in an advertisement in this issue.
