MASSAGE FOR RETURNED SOLDIERS.
A Correction.
TN a recent issue of the Free Lance J - "it was stated that "when the last lot of men arrived the control was still' dual'?— that is shared by the Public Health and Defence Departments. The information-as printed came from, a semi-official source and we accepted: it as correct. It appears, however, that the control was not dual. The control of wounded or sick returned . soldiers was given iip by the Department of Public Health on .the'9th March and it was, not until six days later that the last batch of returned men arrived. The Defence, and, not the Health, Department was, therefore, officially concerned with the case of the men who, properly or improperly, were sent to a hospital where no provision for massage cases , exists. We have already made the position quite clear as to these Masterton cases; and now that we have had semi-official statements from both sides .we cannot devote further space to the subject. "We can only express a hope that before long facilities for massage treatment, when required, will be provided at.all district hospitals of any impdrtanee and not be confined to Rotorua arid Hanmer. :
