Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell were married very'quietly a few weeks ago. and left on Friday for their wedding trip prior to setting up housekeeping in Wanganui. *.;'..* * * The Football Ground is occupied by the Seventh Day Adventists, who have turned it into> canvas town. The annual conference is being held in Wanganui this year and visitors have assembled in large numbers. * * * •* The retirement of Mr. "Watsoii, headmaster of Campbell-street School,- Palmerston North, brings about the change round of some well-known teachers. Mr. Payne, headmaster of Queen Park School, Wanganui, goes to Palmerston North, and his place is to be taken by Mr. Jackson, headmaster of the Hawera High School. © «• © &■ Mr. Li. J. Furrie, one time of Vic-toria-avenue School, but latterly at Ohaiune, was in Wanganui for part of the summer holidays.
