Like other colonials, the young men of Newfoundland have rallied to the .Motherland's call, and taken up a position in the" front line trenches on the Western front. Becently a couple of companies of them gallantly distinguished themselves. They stormed and captured a strongly-defended German gun position. They were acting in concert with another storming party on their left. The latter failed in their effort, but the Newfoundlanders went on and oarried that position also,-garrisoned the captured trenches, and roped in about a hundred prisoners.
