MATCH v. RICHMOND, Saturday, November 11th.

New Zealand team. Full, Booth; three-quarters, Wallace, Deans, Harper- five-eighths, Mynott and Stead; half, Hunter; forwards, Glasgow, Tyler Macdonald, Newton, uorbett, JohnsW, Glenn, Gallaher. Referee, E. T. Andrews, London Society or Jieferees. It rained steadily all the morning, but cleared just before play commenced The ground was consequently heavy, and the ball greasy. In ™ earlier stages of the game our fellows seemed to take, matters rather easily, 1 thought (the effect, no doubt, of such frequent playing), but thus wore oft as the game progressed. During the first ten minutes, play was frequently located m pur halt, chiefly as the result of long kicking by the opposing backs. History also repeated itself in as much as a tree-kick was given against us almost m the same position as the Surrey mlatch, played on the same ground and under the same weatheT conditions, but no goal resulted. New Zealand began to press afterwards but no score was registered tor nearly half-an-hour. Then Hunter received from the scrum, and cut right through the opposing backs, wriggling and twisting like an. eel, and scored between the posts; Wallace faded to convert, however. Wallace scored another try almost immediately, and at half-time the score was 6 to nil. In the second half, New Zealand did practically all the attacking, and were unlucky not to score more than three tries. Richmond never reauy appeared dangerous, the few times our twenty-five was invaded being through interception of wild passes on our side. The bcoie» were got as follows —1, from loose scrum, Hunter try, Wallace failed. 3 points ; 2, from scrum, Hunter, Stead, Wallace try, Harper failed, 3', 3, from scrum, Hunter, Stead, Wallace kicked over line, and! Stead a try, Wallace failed, 3; 4, dribble by Glenn and foot-pass to Gallaher, to Deans try, Wallace goaled, 5; 5, from lineout, Tyler, Deans, Wallace try, Harper failed, 3; total, 17 points. Booth played' another sound game at full, and Wallace, Deans, and Harper also did good work. The latter played his best game of the tour, and ran, kicked, and fielded 1 really well. Mynott and Stead likewise played well, and Hunter, at half, played a cool, heady, and resourceful game, and was a conspicuous success. The forwards all performed well. They were opposed to a veiy heavy pack, who adopted the New Zealand formation, and, as has invariably beep the case in such circumstances, experienced little difficulty am obtaining possession. Gallaher, on the wing, was his own inimitable self, but was frequently improperly penalised. Referees here rarely make any allowance when a winger or half unintentionally overuns the ball. The home backs kicked and tacaied well, and occasionally indulged in passing, but gained little ground by this latter means. The Richmond 1 forwards, as previously stated; were a very heavy lot, solid scrummere, and occasionally made ground by dribbling rushes.
