The Union Company's fine steamei " Mararoa " has been chosen for the New Year's Day excursion to Picton. It is unnecessaiy to mention that this fine roomy boat is splendidly appointed, and is an eminently comfortable boat for the purpose. The company's adveitisement appears elsewheie in this issue.
NEW ZEALAND RAILWAYS. TRAIN ARRANGEMENTS NEW YEAR HOLIDAYS, 1902-1903. ON 30th and 31-st December, 1902, and 2nd and 3rd January, 1903, Special Passenger Trains will run as follows :— FOR WOODVILLE — Te Aro, dep 6.55 a.m., Wellington 7.10, Ngahauianga 7.23, Petone 7.35, Lower Hutt 7.42, Upper Hutt 8.19, Masterton 11.5, Woodville, arr 1.25 p.m. This train will stop at all stations between Wellington and Upper Hutt. North of Upper Hutt it will make same stops as Te Aro to Napier Mail Tiain, and will also stop, if required, at Opaki and Konini to set down passenge s from South of Cross Creek. FOR WELLINGTON AND TE ARO.— Woodville, dep 2.10 p m , Masterton 4 22, Wellington, arr 8.23, Te Aio, arr 8.35 p.m. This tiam will make same stops as Napier to Te Aio Mail Tram. It will also stop, if requned, at Konini, to pick up passengers foi South of Cross Creek, and at Opaki to pick up passengers foi Masterton and stations South of Cioss Cieek. On the above dates the ordinary 7.7 a.m. tiain, Te Aro to Upper Hutt, will NOT lun. Passengeis will require to travel by the train leaving Te Aro at 6 55 a m. and Wellington at 7.1 U a m The ordinary 7 12 a m. tiain, Lower Hutt to Te Aro, will lun 0 minutes e.uhei than usual The oidinary 7 45 am tram, Upper Hutt to Te Aio, will leave Upper Hutt at 7.35 a.m., but other station" as usual. The ordinaiy 2 10 p.m tram, Woodville to Wellington, will not leave Woodville until 2 35 p m., and will run to Te Aro, arnving theie 11.25 p m The goods train usually leaving Carterton foi Masteiton at 355 pm. will mn 10 minutes earlier.
