BEST SCREENED AUSTRALIAN NEWCASTLE WALSKNI) COAL, at per ton, delivered over the side, of any sliip in the harbour of Auckland, CONDITIONS. 1. All the articles offorod for issue to ho of the best, marketable quality of their several kinds, aud subject to the approval or rejection of tho Senior Commissariat Officer, or Officer appointed by him for that [purpose, and if rejected other supplies of a satisfactory nature are to he once substituted ; failing which, or if the deliveries are not made at the time aud placeappoinfcd, the Commissariat Officer, or in his absence the Paymaster of the ship, to have power to purchase at the Contractor's expense. 2. Articles specially imported or taken out of bond for any of the above services will bo free from Colonial duties. 3. Tt shall be in the power of either party to this contract to terminate the same by giving to the other three calendar months' notice of the same in writing ; such notice shall not he considered valid unless given on the first day of a month, and within the period for which the Contract is made. 4. On the production of the Conwith the required vouchers, in a complete state, he will be paid the whole amount in one bill upon the Lords Commissioners of her Majesty's Treasury, at par, when it exceeds £oO; when under that sum, payment will be made in coin. Contractors will have no right to claim payment of their accounts within ten days after the close of the month. 5. Each Tender must bear the bona fide signatures of two responsible and approved sureties for the due performance of the Contract, and should the Tender be accepted, they, with the Contractor, must attend at the Commissariat olfice within six days to sign a bond, the penalty of which will be about one-fourth of tho whole sum that will probably be paid under tho eontract. Persons tendering are warned against writing the names of proposed sureties themselves. 6. Each cask of salt beef and salt pork to be opened in the presence of a Commissariat Officer, of person appointed by him, and repacked at the expense of (be Contractor, and only the best, pieces will be selected. 7. Supplies may be demanded under this CuuU'hjl tor any ships hireu for the conveyance of her Majesty's troops. S. The, Commissariat to havo the right of importing and issuing any supplies during the period of these Contracts. 9. Forms of Tender, and information may be obtained at this office. -No form of Tender will he issued after noon of Wednesday, the 1 lib instant. 10. Tenders on tho printed forms must he properly filled up, signed, and delivered in duplicate, at this office, under a sealed envelope, marked ou the outside, " Tender of Supplies to Ships of War," and no tenders will be noticed unless made on those forms.
