REPRESENTATION OF PARNELL.
A meeting of the electors of Parnell took place last evening, at half-past seven o'clock, in the Presbyterian Sehool-room, for the purpose of nominating a fit and proper person to represent the electoral district of Parnell in the next session of tho General Assembly, in place of the late member, Robert J. Greighton, Esq. There was a large attendance of the electors.of the district. The business of tho meeting having been introduced, Major Ileapby proposed, and Mr. Wrigley seconded, the nomination of Frederick Whitaker, Esq., as a fit and proper person to re-pre-ent Parnell. Tho proposition was received with acclamation tfnd carried unanimously, and a deputation was appointed to wait upon his Honour the Superintendent this day to lay the resolution of the meeting before him uud ascertain his views upon the subject. Before separating the meeting passed a hearty vote of thanks to the late member (Mr. Crcighton) for the able, zealous, and energetic manner iu which ho had conducted himself during the late session of the General Assembly in all matiers affecting the welfare of the province.
