The colonial gunooat Sandfly, Captain Fox, left Wellington on Thursday, the 4th inst., and arrived in the Manukau at 7 p.m. on Sunday last. Sbe had a mail on board for Taranaki, but was unable to land it, owing to the boisterous state of the weather. She spoke the brig Reliance off the Waikato Heads.

The cutter Boneta, from Waikato, arrived on Monday afternoon. The cutter Aquilla, from the same port, arrived on Tuesday morning. The p.s. Prince Alfred, Captain Ritchie, left for Waikato on Tuesday morning, with three barges in tow for that port. • She proceeded a considerable distance outside the- Heads, but was compelled to put back, in consequence of bad weather. The s.s. Alexandra, Captain Williams, sailed for Melbourne on Tuesday morning, at 7 o'clock. It is understood that she is the bearer [of important Government despatches to that place, which are to be forwarded to England by the homeward mail. The Alice Cameron, from here on the 20th last month, arrived in Sydney on the 2nd instant. . The barque Leah, Captain Lowrie, left Newcastle for Auckland on the Ist, with 308 tons coal, on the same day. The Kate Waters, barque, left the same port with 204 head of cattle, 150 sheep, and 17 tons hay. The following vessels had entered outwards for Auckland on the 4th May:—Salamander, s.s , 776 tons,: Captain Clarke; Alice Cameron, barque, Captain Nearing. ' i ■
